Works as expected

Got the Pro Antivirus and Firewall. Installation was quick. It's been running fine. No issues so far with my computer or security. Happy with it.

Good value for a new user

I was looking for something affordable to protect my old desktop and my new phone. I saw they had a multi-device bundle deal for the Extreme Security. It seemed like a good offer compared to some competitors I checked out, especially for covering both PC and mobile. The annual subscription wasn't too expensive. I was able to find a decent introductory discount when I signed up. Installation on my PC and Android phone was straightforward. I feel like I got a good amount of protection for what I paid. It definitely felt worth the purchase, saved me some money while still getting decent coverage.

Reliable protection, year after year

This is my third year with ZoneAlarm, I think. I started with the Free Firewall ages ago and then upgraded to Pro Antivirus and Firewall a couple of years back. I just renewed my 2-year plan, and the process was exactly as before – got an email reminder, clicked the link, and it was done. No surprises, which is what I want from security software. It's always been consistent, never had a major virus or ransomware scare with it active. I briefly considered switching to another brand when my last subscription was ending, just to see what else was out there, but I decided to stick with what works. It doesn't bog down my system, and updates seem to happen without me noticing. Good product.

Good security, decent support

I purchased the Extreme Security NextGen package for my new laptop. The ordering process was pretty straightforward on their website; I just picked the 1-year subscription and checked out. Downloading and installing it took about 15 minutes, which felt a bit long but it worked smoothly. I had a small hiccup with a setting after installation, something about network zones, so I contacted their support. I used the chat feature and got a response in about 10 minutes. The agent was helpful and walked me through it, so that was good. The software itself runs quietly in the background, which I appreciate; I haven't noticed any slowdowns. It flagged a suspicious email attachment last week, which made me feel it's doing its job. Overall, a solid experience for protecting my PC.

I'm thinking about buying a subscription but I'm worried about being stuck with it if it doesn't work out. Do they have like, a money-back guarantee or something?

T Troy Kaur 1 month ago
Yeah, they definitely have one. I'm pretty sure it's 30 days, so you have some time to try it out and if it's not for you, just cancel.

They do offer a money-back guarantee, I used it once because I accidentally bought the wrong version. It was pretty straightforward, just had to contact support within the return window. So you're safe there.

how does zonealarm compare to like, mcafee or bitdefender these days? is it still relevant or kinda old school?

M Marcus 1 month ago
Honestly, ZoneAlarm's firewall is still top-notch, probably better than McAfee's built-in one. For overall protection, Bitdefender often ranks higher for antivirus but ZA has a good suite now.

It's different. ZoneAlarm has always been known for its firewall, which is super strong. McAfee can be a bit bloaty. Bitdefender is good too but the focus is a bit different. Depends if you want a super hardcore firewall or a more general all-in-one.

Are there any current coupon codes for ZoneAlarm Extreme Security NextGen? Looking to get a new annual sub.

T Troy 2 months ago
Check their homepage directly, they often have introductory deals for new users pop up right there. Or sign up for their newsletter, sometimes they send codes.

I usually see like 25-60% off for new subscriptions floating around. Sometimes specific sites aggregate them, but I've had good luck just going to their site around holidays or 'sales' like Black Friday. Don't think you can stack them though, from what I remember.

Anyone know if ZoneAlarm still offers a good student discount? My old antivirus is expiring soon and trying to save some cash.

I got one last year, so they probably still do. Check their site directly, it's usually a pretty sweet deal.

They do! My buddy just renewed his with a student discount like two months ago. It's usually through some student verification platform, I think. Saved him a good chunk.

Hey, thinking about getting ZoneAlarm Extreme Security. How many devices can I actually protect with one license? Like, can I put it on my desktop and my laptop?

M Megan C. 2 months ago
Yeah, usually it's pretty clear when you're buying. They'll tell you right on the product page if it's 1, 3, 5, etc. devices. Just check that specific version you're eyeing.

It depends on the plan you pick, some cover multiple devices. I think my 'family plan' or whatever they called it covers 5, but the basic one was just for one PC. Look for the multi-device bundles.
